Suyoung Kim is a multifaceted individual, embodying roles such as traveler, writer, entrepreneur, marketer, lecturer, blogger, translator, photographer, documentary producer, yoga instructor, Indian Bollywood actress, artist, and planner.
Suyoung Kim's journey began unconventionally; she was a self-described "problem child" who dropped out of middle school. After passing her GED, she entered a vocational high school a year later than her peers. Despite the ridicule, poverty, and family discord, she unexpectedly found a dream. Through self-study, she gained admission to Yonsei University, and notably, funded her tuition with a scholarship earned by winning KBS's 'Challenge Golden Bell'.
After graduating from university, Kim joined Goldman Sachs. However, at 25, following cancer surgery, she meticulously compiled a list of 73 dreams she aspired to achieve before she died. This pivotal moment spurred her to move to London, where she completed her master's degree. She then embarked on a career at the UK headquarters of Royal Dutch Shell, a leading global energy company.
In 2010, her autobiographical debut, Write Your Dreams, Write Your Future, sold an impressive 300,000 copies, inspiring countless individuals to re-evaluate their lives. Between 2011 and 2014, over 25 months, she traveled across 47 countries, interviewing more than 500 people about their dreams and loves. These experiences formed the basis for her subsequent books, What is Your Dream? and What is Your Love?. She also took on the roles of filming, appearing in, and narrating a documentary, which was broadcast as in 2012.
In 2012, Kim established 'Dreaming Earth', a comprehensive content company. Through this platform, she has actively sown the seeds of dreams via diverse avenues including content creation, publishing, educational programs, music, smartphone applications, exhibitions, festivals, parades, and contests. She also manages the YouTube channel , boasting over 10 million views and 90,000 subscribers, and , which has seen over 3,000 students. Her outreach extends to the public through more than 800 lectures delivered both domestically and internationally.
Kim's inspirational journey, which has even been featured in middle school textbooks, continues to unfold. Her initial list of 73 dreams has expanded to 83, and she has already realized 73 of them across 80 countries. These achievements include buying a house for her parents, climbing Kilimanjaro, appearing in a Bollywood film, becoming a cosmetics advertising model, and marrying the person she loves. Her healing essay, Mind Spa, draws from insights gained through a "mind journey" involving meditation, spiritual practices, and studies in psychology and spirituality. She now lives, cherishing "being present in this moment, right here, right now" as her greatest happiness.
As a mother, she authored the picture book The Whole Universe Loves You as a first birthday gift for her eldest child, Manbokdung-i, and the fairy tale Healer Aina for her second child, Baekmansongi. She later gifted herself the picture book Mom Recharge.
